Salary after tax table 2026/27

Reviewed by ClearPayslip editorial teamUpdated on Methodology

Short answer

Take-home pay for each salary from £15,000 to £150,000 in 2026/27, for one job on tax code 1257L with no student loan or pension, in England, Wales and Northern Ireland and, where Scottish rates change the result, in Scotland.

National Insurance is the same everywhere in the UK; the difference between the two columns is Income Tax, because Scottish taxpayers pay the rates set by the Scottish Parliament. Open any salary for the full breakdown, student loan and pension scenarios.

How to read the table

  • Take-home pay is what is left after Income Tax and employee National Insurance (8% between £12,570 and £50,270, 2% above), for a full tax year on one job.
  • Your Personal Allowance of £12,570 shrinks by £1 for every £2 above £100,000, which is why take-home pay grows more slowly between £100,000 and £125,140.
  • Student loan repayments, pension contributions, salary sacrifice and a different tax code all lower the figures: use the calculator for your own case.
  • Your employer calculates tax per pay period, so a single payslip can differ by a few pounds from these annual figures divided by 12.
